With testing due to kick off in Sepang in just over a week, the latest episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast takes a look back at the highlights and lowlights of the 2017 MotoGP season. The PPP Posseā„¢ - Steve English, Neil Morrison, and David Emmett - gathered at the Barcelona Superpresitigio to break down the year into five categories.

Before we start on the five categories, we first take a look back at the year in general, and contemplate whether this era of MotoGP is comparable to the previous Golden Age in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Then, we go through our five categories: rider of the year, surprise of the year, disappointment of the year, the race of the year, and the overtake of the year. Steve, Neil, and David all give their different perspectives on these categories, which generates some great debate on the state of racing in 2017.
