We are in the middle of testing season, and so after two MotoGP tests at two very different circuits, Neil Morrison and David Emmett sit down to go over the state of play in MotoGP. The big question from both Sepang and Phillip Island is whether Marc Marquez or Maverick ViƱales is the favorite to emerge from preseason testing. Neil and David weigh the pros and cons, and go over the data from the test so far.

We also talk about Honda's new engine, and their decision to test at Jerez. There are looks at Cal Crutchlow, Dani Pedrosa and Jack Miller, and what their testing performance says about testing. We take a look at the state of Ducati, and whether they are in as much trouble as they appear. We talk about Jorge Lorenzo's adaptation to the Desmosedici, but also go through Andrea Dovizioso's comments on the GP17.

Testing can be deceptive, and we also have a discussion about where both Valentino Rossi and Andrea Iannone stand. The two were not posting impressive lap times, yet there is reason to believe their outright times belie their real pace. For Suzuki, the pace of Alex Rins makes clear that Iannone's pace should not be taken on face value, the Spanish rookie posting impressive results.

Rins wasn't the only impressive rookie. We go over the situation of all four of MotoGP's rookies so far, and give our far too premature predictions for who will perform best of the newcomers.

MotoGP wasn't the only topic of discussion, of course. With World Superbikes kicking off this weekend, we also took a look ahead at last weekend's opening round at Philliip Island. There was plenty to discuss, and we talked about all this and more.
