In the latest episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast, David Emmett, Tony Goldsmith, Neil Morrison and Steve English get together to discuss the opening round of World Superbikes from Phillip Island. David and Tony quiz Neil and Steve, who were both at the race, Steve in his capacity as the new commentator for the WorldSBK series live feed. In the show, we talk about whether Kawasaki are set to continue their domination of the series, after Jonathan Rea got off to a good start with a double win. We take a look at how Ducati fared, comparing the performance of Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano. We look at newcomer Yamaha, and talk about how the YZF-R1 fared in its first outing.

We also discuss how the Honda fared, and especially how WSBK rookie Nicky Hayden stacked up in his first race against the up-and-coming young Dutchman Michael van der Mark. As a bonus, David Emmett spoke to the Honda team manager Ronald ten Kate as their base in Nieuwleusen, The Netherlands, before the season started, and that interview is included in the podcast as well. Ten Kate tells us how the team's preparation for the season has gone, what they have done differently this time, and the effect Nicky Hayden is having in the team. All in all, a great show to kick the World Superbike season off.
