After a rather excessive delay (for which you have our apologies) caused by technical issues, the latest episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast is finally here. This episode Neil Morrison and David Emmett discuss the events of a thrilling Sachsenring MotoGP race.

Germany gave us plenty to talk about. There was the hard-fought victory by Marc Marquez, of course, but Jonas Folger made him work very hard for it. We discuss both Marquez' win and the opportunity Folger seized to step out of his teammate's shadow. We talk about the resurfaced track, and the work that made for Michelin. Victory for Marquez puts him back in the lead of the championship, and we ponder whether this signals a change of tack for the Repsol Honda rider.

We also turn our spotlight onto Yamaha, and review the performances of both Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales. After a tough week at Assen, Viñales needed a solid finish, and that's what he got. Naturally, we also talk about Ducati, and how the various riders fared. There was a huge disparity in both expected performance and actual results, with Danilo Petrucci qualifying on the front row yet only managing to finish twelfth, while Alvaro Bautista had an outstanding race to end in sixth, and best Ducati. We mull how that could happen, and what effect the tires had.

Naturally, we turn our attention to the Moto2 and Moto3 championships, and we discuss how those races played out, as well as going over a bit of silly season speculation. And finally, we end with our winners and losers section, where Neil and David nominate their candidates for who came out best and who did worst at the German GP.

This episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast is brought to you by Suzuki, and the all new Suzuki GSX-R1000 superbike.
