On Wednesday morning in Valencia, Neil Morrison and David Emmett sat down to take a look back at a dramatic MotoGP weekend at Valencia, and to look forward to 2020 after the first day of the Valencia test. There was an awful lot to talk about in what turned out to be one of the craziest weekends in years.

The  biggest news was of course the retirement of Jorge Lorenzo. We look at how it came about, and take a look at his record in MotoGP. And we discuss where Lorenzo rates among the greats of history. Lorenzo's departure left a vacancy in the most prestigious team in the paddock, and we chew over the decision to put Alex Marquez in the Repsol Honda team alongside his brother Marc. Will this work out? And what long-term implications will this have?

With Alex Marquez in Repsol Honda, where does that leave Johann Zarco? We discuss the latest machinations to keep the Frenchman in MotoGP, and the fallout the decision to move Marquez up and keep Zarco up will have for the Marc VDS Moto2 team. Then we take a brief look at who has been testing what, and where everyone stands so far, before finishing off with our winners and losers for the Valencia weekend.
