We take a look at Quartararo's season, and his weaknesses, and ask whether he can repeat his championship, or whether a healthier Marc Marquez will be an unstoppable obstacle.

Fresh off the plane from the San Juan Villicum round of WorldSBK, Steve kicks off the show with some talk of the WorldSBK title, and how things are looking for Toprak Razgatlioglu. That transitions into talk about the MotoGP title, with Steve, Adam, and Neil discussing whether they think Fabio Quartararo will wrap up the 2021 MotoGP crown at Misano this weekend.

The crew then discuss how they expect the race to play out, as well as taking a look at the Moto2 and Moto3 championships, and what role Misano 2 could play. They discuss Valentino Rossi's best, and more interestingly, worst special helmet designs for the Italian races. Technical problems derailed the post-Jerez WorldSBK wrap up, so Steve English and Gordon Ritchie sat down after the Portimão round to take a look back at the last two wild weekends of WorldSBK for the Paddock Pass Podcast presented by Pirelli.

The big question after the tragic death of Dean Berta Viñales at Jerez was how to improve safety, especially in the WorldSSP300 class. Steve and Gordo ponder the purpose of WorldSBK's newest and smallest class, look at some of the riders, and consider ways of improving the class. The Moto3 race in Austin saw some terrifying scenes, as Deniz Öncü clipped Jeremy Alcoba's front wheel, causing Andrea Migno and Pedro Acosta to go flying at over 200 km/h. Travel and logistics meant that Gordon Ritchie and Steve English did not get to sit down and record the Barcelona WorldSBK episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast until they arrived in Jerez on Thursday. That turned out to be fortuitous, as it meant that Steve could sit down with Chaz Davies for an interview shortly after the Welshman had announced his retirement from racing, and in which he gave a typically fascinating look at his career and motivation through the years.

Before that, Gordo and Steve take a look back at Barcelona. They discuss the effect the races there had on the championship, and take a long look at how Kawasaki not getting the 500 RPM they tested with and banked on has hurt them down the stretch. They discuss Toprak Razgatlioglu's championship chances, and what has changed. And they look at the situation at Honda, and ask whether bringing in new riders from the MotoGP paddock is the best move. And of course, they take a look at Chaz Davies' career, and what he has meant to the WorldSBK series.
