Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 140: Retro Review - The 2006 MotoGP Season

By PPP Team |

This week's episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast is the first in a new series, in which the team take a look back at classic moments in racing history, be it races, seasons, or other events. We kick this season off with a season that holds a special place in many people's hearts: the 2006 MotoGP season.

There was a lot to get excited about in 2006: Valentino Rossi's surprise fall from utter domination, five different manufacturers getting on the podium, and some of the closest racing we have ever seen, topped off, of course, with Nicky Hayden realizing his dream of winning a Grand Prix world championship.

Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 138: The Fast Freddie Spencer Special

By PPP Team |

With racing still not happening, we have another special episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast out. This time, Neil Morrison and Steve English get together to talk about one of the great legends of Grand Prix racing, Freddie Spencer.

Steve and Neil go through Spencer's career, and the bikes he rode. They intersperse the podcast with interviews which both Steve and Neil did with the former 500cc and 250cc champion, in which he covers a huge range of subjects. Spencer talks about how he got started in the US, his career in Grand Prix racing, the history of the Honda NS500 and NSR500s, and much more.

It's a special show, in lots of ways, and worth a listen.

The latest episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast is something a bit special. Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 135: Qatar GP And Coronavirus Special - What Happens Next?

By PPP Team |

It was a weird weekend in the desert for the season opener at Qatar. No MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 taking center stage, and a seemingly endless stream of news of race postponements, cancellations, and who knows what else. On the Monday after the race, Neil Morrison and David Emmett gathered in a hotel room to discuss what happened, and where we go from here.

Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 134: The MotoGP Preview That Events Overtook

By PPP Team |

It's a podcast bonanza this week, with a WorldSBK podcast yesterday, and a MotoGP podcast today. In this episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast, Neil Morrison and David Emmett discuss the events of the Qatar MotoGP test, and look ahead to the start of the MotoGP season.

Unfortunately, the recording of the podcast was overtaken by events. We recorded this before the Qatar round of MotoGP was canceled on Sunday night, and so our predictions for who might win at the Losail International Circuit have been rendered null and void. However, that doesn't invalidate our discussion of the test: Neil was on the ground in Qatar, and on top of events there.

Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 133: A Thrilling WorldSBK Weekend At Phillip Island

By PPP Team |

In the latest episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast, Steve English and Gordon Ritchie rave about the opening weekend of WorldSBK at Phillip Island. The first round of World Superbikes served up some outstanding racing, and plenty for Steve and Gordo to chew over.

There was Toprak Razgatlioglu's win, Jonathan Rea crashing out of the first race - and Gordo and Steve ponder whether this was the first time he ever crashed out of a race of his own accord since joining Kawasaki - and then winning the Superpole race on the day after his grandmother died, then Alex Lowes winning a race on his first weekend on the Kawasaki.
