Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 58: Ducati's Domination Post-Silverstone

By PPP Team |

The latest episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast is out. In it, Steve English, Neil Morrison and David Emmett take a look back at the Austria and Silverstone races, and discuss the big issues that came out of that race.

First of all, we go over the changes made at Ducati, and how the spec software is allowing Andrea Dovizioso to shine. We also reference the MegaRide software, which is a part of Ducati's long-term focus on tire consumption. And we have a quick word for Jorge Lorenzo and his progress.

Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 57: Flag-To-Flag Fun At Brno

By PPP Team |

With MotoGP back on track, the Paddock Pass Podcast also makes a return. Neil Morrison and David Emmett discuss a fascinating Czech Grand Prix at Brno. The race left us with plenty to talk about, not least because of the way in which Marc Marquez took victory.

First up, we evaluate Marc Marquez' victory, and analyze just how he pulled it off. We discuss the various factors that went into his win, the importance of strategy, and run through the options available to riders and teams in the event of a flag-to-flag race.

Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 56: Shaking Things Up At The Sachsenring

By PPP Team |

After a rather excessive delay (for which you have our apologies) caused by technical issues, the latest episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast is finally here. This episode Neil Morrison and David Emmett discuss the events of a thrilling Sachsenring MotoGP race.

Germany gave us plenty to talk about. There was the hard-fought victory by Marc Marquez, of course, but Jonas Folger made him work very hard for it. We discuss both Marquez' win and the opportunity Folger seized to step out of his teammate's shadow. We talk about the resurfaced track, and the work that made for Michelin. Victory for Marquez puts him back in the lead of the championship, and we ponder whether this signals a change of tack for the Repsol Honda rider.

Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 55: Rossi's Assen Masterpiece

By PPP Team |

In the latest episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast, Neil Morrison and David Emmett go over the events of a scintillating weekend at Assen. We start, naturally enough, with Valentino Rossi's win at the legendary Dutch track. We go over how Rossi won it, and compare this victory to his other historic wins. We contrast Rossi's victory at the track with his teammate's fate, Maverick Viñales crashing out of the race as he pushed to catch the leaders.

Naturally, we also compare the fortunes of the Ducatis. We wonder at Danilo Petrucci's transformation into a consistent podium threat, and discuss where it might have come from. We also discuss Andrea Dovizioso's measured race, his remarkable pace to catch the front group, yet his willingness to settle for points, which ultimately leaves him leading the championship.

Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 53: Le Mans - The French Connection

By PPP Team |

The latest (and slightly belated) episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast is out. In this edition, David Emmett quizzes Neil Morrison on his trip to Le Mans for the French round of MotoGP. It proved to be an extremely eventful race weekend indeed.

That leaves Neil and David with plenty to discuss. First, there was the changing weather, which made setting up for Sunday's race difficult. Then there was Jack Miller's humongous crash at Turn 3, from which he escaped miraculously almost unscathed. There was the scintillating battle of the Movistar Yamahas, from which Maverick Viñales emerged victorious and Valentino Rossi ended in the gravel.

By PPP Team |

The latest episode of the Paddock Pass podcast is out, and features David Emmett and Steve English catch up after the last couple of rounds of World Superbikes, after both Assen and Imola. There was an awful lot to talk about, but the one subject we didn't discuss was Nicky Hayden's terrible cycling accident, which happened a day after we recorded. Please bear that in mind when you listen to the show. Naturally, our thoughts are with Nicky Hayden and his family, and we are hoping he makes a speedy recovery.
